Former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has told talkSPORT he would be open to speaking with Aston Villa about their vacant managerial role, having rejected a number of job offers from clubs in China.

“I’m not too sure whether I fancy the Aston Villa job at the moment – I’m watching football, travelling the world,” Big Sam told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Wednesday.

“But I suppose if there is any contact, like anybody else, I would talk to them. I would speak to them.”

A host of coaches names have been linked with succeeding Steve Bruce, who was sacked last week following a poor start to the season.

Another former West Ham manager, David Moyes has also been linked with the role but former West Ham youth player John Terry who went on to play for another London Club is considered the surprise favourite despite his lack of management experience.
