Forward still on the rader… along with Scamacca

Ben Brereton Diaz remains firmly on West Ham’s radar.

The Blackburn striker has been pegged as a target for boss David Moyes throughout the summer window.

It seemed to take a back seat amid talks over Chelsea’s Armando Broja and then Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.

Scamacca is poised to become a West Ham player but that deal is not going to kill off a move for the Chile international.

Brereton Diaz was in sensational form last season and scored 22 goals in total.

A key attraction for Moyes is the fact that the 23-year-old can play as a centre-forward but also as a winger, meaning that he could occupy the squad slot that was previously taken up by Andriy Yarmolenko.

Brereton Diaz’s manager, Jon Dahl Tomasson, has confirmed that the player could leave the club this summer, because of the Premier League interest.

The Irons could shift their focus to Brereton Diaz after securing the signing of Scamacca; that deal should be confirmed imminently.
