Four defeats on the trot spell massive Slav problem

Working on the principle that the two Davids have always insisted no manager can survive six defeats on the trot, Slaven Bilic is deep in the brown stuff with Arsenal up next at the Emirates.

Obviously, however much we like and respect him as a man, we cannot go on like this and Slaven will know as well as everyone else that the end could now be very near.

Andy Carroll – leading the team in the absence of Mark Noble and Winston Reid – had given the Irons a perfect start with a goal out of the top drawer as he pulled down a fine cross and fired home.

The Hammers had won the first half by a distance on points but once Hull went through the gears and as the second half rally started, the confidence drained away and  the goals inevitably arrived from a side who were suddenly made to look like Barcelona.

Slaven knows the score and fingers can again be pointed at his signings – Jose Fonte (did we really pay £8 million?), Andre Ayew (record signing at £20m) , Robert Snodgrass and Sofiane Feghouli.

Let’s not over analyse this. They just aren’t up to the job although a word for Arthur Masuaku who again looked quality when he came on.

The team is slow at the back, bang average in midfield with no cutting edge up top – given that, one fears for the midweek clash at Arsenal big time.

Deeper analysis will follow but for now it’s sufficient to say we are in 14th place just six points off the relegation places and showing no signs of arresting the decline.

In those circumstances there is usually only one answer.
