Antonio’s form will be so important

Michail Antonio grabbed the first hat-trick of his career and added a fourth as the Irons took a giant step towards Premier League safety to send the Canaries down.

The result never looked in doubt as the Irons stepped on the gas from the start with Antonio scoring his goals in the 11th, 46th,54ist and 71st minutes.

To call it a man of the match performance does him an injustice – he went through the work and display of three or four of them.

He was absolutely relentless terrorising the shocking Canaries defence and produced probably the best show of the season from any Hammer player.

It was a genuime 10 out of 10 performance but although he was the shining star he was surroiunded by a galaxy in the likes of Bowen, Soucek, Cresswell, Rice, Diop and Fredericks.

The reality was there wasn’t a bad performance anywhere – they all did their job and although the opposition was poor find no fault with a fine Hammers performance.

It probably makes us safe although counting chickens is always a bad idea.. Antonio made way for Haller, Mark Noble for Wilshere and Yarmolenko for Bowen as the Irons strolled to a fabulous three points.

We now sit in 16th position on equal points with Watford who came from behind to beat Newcastle but  our goal difference is six, 12, 14 and 26 better than the clubs beneath us.

A great day, great performance and incredibly special for that £7 million man form five years ago – the magical Mikey!

It was our biggest away win since 2007.
