Frankie Mac: ‘Moyes the miracle maker’

Frankie Mac is enyoying this season better than any since 1985-86 believing he is seeing the same spirit as  existed in that wonderful Irons team.

And he reckons that David Moyes is proving himself a miracle worker in more ways than one – notably by ensuring that his – AND ONLY HIS – signings are brought into the club.

Talking to ClaretandHugh Frankie  declared: I would love to see the stadium developed into a proper football stadium – escalators and the like everywhere don’t suit me but beyond that there’s nothing to complain about right now.

The board promised European football and they have delivered although it may have taken longer than expected but that was the promise and they have fulfilled it.

I am looking at a team that has exactly the same attitude and spirit as the boys I played alongside in the 80s. They are enjoying their football and it’s showing in virtually every game.

Declan have shown himself to be magnificent and it’s great to see him making those lung-bursting runs out of defence. He is adding to his game all the time.

But David Moyes has been very patient with Said Benrahma and has corrected that fault in  his game of giving the ball away in the wrong positions.

Said has been a revelation this season and that’s down to the boss who is doing a totally magnificent job.”

He still believes they need someone to compete with Mikey for the front position and his personal choice would have been Ivan Toney who will be playing on Sunday for Beentford.

“Good player – he’d have been ideal,” says Macca

“Don’t ask me where we will finish in the League or what we will do in Europe. I’m just enjoying watching my West Ham enjoying and producing such fabulous football.

I’, overjoyed.”
