Frankie Mc: “No trouble in Romania”

I have no worries about the Europa Cup return leg and believe the Irons will qualify for the next stage of the competition.

However, the squad  have to GROW UP now and sort out these sendings off – Slaven are you listening lol.

Ok it was all very disappointing to see the team lose two goals but fair play to Astra they gave it a real go after James Collins was sent off.

However, with eleven v eleven we were we would have gone on to win by three or four because we had played some excellent stuff until then and there was only one team at the races. If we mange to keep everyone on the pitch out there we will beat them.

The manager has a tough decision to make on what sort of team he puts outwith the Premier League so close to kicking off but I think we have a squad that can cope.

Many are saying this morning that we should kick Europe into touch now and concentrate on the Premier League but whilst the PL has to be our Number One priority we have the resources to continue a run in the Europa..

There’s nothing like European nights under the Upton Park lights and I don’t think we should sacrifice that opportunity. I want to see the club make a few quid out of the competition and believe we can go on for a few rounds yet.

I find it ironic way that we have qualified for the competition via the Fair Play League but have had four guys including the manager sent off in five games.

Never mind, we are good enough to press on in this competition and do ok in the PL so lets have it – you don’t chuck in the towel at this stage.

The boss is still bringing in new players and working out systems but trust me, he, like every other manager, will have a preferred system of play and it will be fascinating to see how we go at the Emirates on opening day.

We coped with loads of  games in my day and they should be able to now. I can’t see anything other than an Hammers win in Romania
