Both Lyon and Monaco are weighing up a bid to sign Issa Diop from West Ham this summer.

Sources have confirmed to C&H that the Frenchman is attracting interest from Ligue 1, having moved to the Hammers from Toulouse back in 2018.

The Irons paid a fee of £22m to sign Diop, in what was then a club-record transfer, and the Hammers have accepted they will have to take a loss if they are to move him on.

David Moyes is closing in on the signing of Nayef Aguerd from Rennes – which should be announced shortly – and Diop is set to be allowed to leave, with Angelo Ogbonna also close to returning to full fitness after his horror injury last season.

Lazio also hold an interest in the 25-year-old and it appears that there will be something of a tussle for his signature, given the interest from the two French clubs.

He has a contract until 2023 so this may well be the club’s final chance to receive a fee for him.
