French newspaper L’equipe have completed a u-turn on the changes of Monaco right-back Djibril Sidibe joining West Ham.

Less a week ago the French media suggested the Hammers were in talks over a £13.7million deal for the 27 year old despite West Ham having good coverage in the right-back position with Ryan Fredericks, Pablo Zabaleta and Ben Johnson,

Italian Journolist Nicolo Schira who first broke the Sebastien Haller to West Ham transfer rumour rubbished the article at the time saying West Ham is not interested in Djibril Sidibè from Monaco. He isn’t a Pellegrini target”

Conveniently the French newspaper is now backtracking today and is now saying that West Ham are getting cold feet over concerns over an injury to the player’s right knee and are unlikely to proceed.

The report suggests that Crystal Palace are now in pole position for World Cup-winning French international for a fee of around 15 million Euros.
