West Ham have called in a Paris-based turf technology firm in a bid to beat their spate of injuries that have hampered the Hammers in recent seasons. West Ham have followed Arsenal in installing AirFibr technology on their training pitches at their new training facility at Rush green.

The technology has been use at Arsenal’s training ground goalkeeper area for nearly two years before they opted to roll out across all training pitches earlier this year.

Natural Grass’ experts claim that their AirFibr grass reduces the risks of players’ injuries by as much as 20 to 40 per cent. The all-weather resistant turf is made of 100 per cent natural grass anchored in an artificial rootzone formed with sand, synthetic microfibers and granulated natural cork.

The turf has already been in use at Real Madrid, Lyon and throughout stadiums that hosted fixtures during Euro 2016.
