Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry will have his first round of talks on Martin Samuelsen’s future next Wednesday night.

Fry is keen to take the Norwegian teenager to London Road for next season’s campaign and told ClaretandHugh exclusively that he will open talks with David Sullivan.

Fry – the David’s manager before they sacked him at Birmingham – has remained big friends with the pair and has been invited as their guest at the FA Cup replay against Manchester United.

He told us: “It’s well known that we’d love to keep Martin on loan next season and this will be an opportunity to hold some preliminary talks on it.

“We haven’t seen much of the lad recently because he came back to Upton Park for important under 21 games and the went off on international duty.

“But we love the lad and it would be great if we could keep him and put him through some hurly burly football and help him to mature. We’ll talk and see where it goes.”
