Genk suffer three defeats on the trot

West Ham’s Europa Cup opponents Genk are in a particularly poor run of form currently having lost their last three games and conceding eight goals in the process.

The Belgian outfit arrive at the London Stadium on Thursday evening having suffered their third defeat on the bounce yesterday – 2-0 against Charleroi.

Shortly after the Hammers had snatched a great 1-0 win at Goodison Park, the Thursday’s opponents followed defeats against KAS Eupen in the League and Dinamo Zagreb  in the Europa Cup.

The Hammers will be strong favourites to continue winning form as they bid to top their league and add another £670k to the pot in Europe.

David Moyes will make changes with Alex Kral and Mark Noble both ruled out he may need to keep Declan and Tomas in midfield although Manu Lanzini may fill a defensive midfield role in which he has proved successful in the past.

Kral is understood to have proved positive for cov whilst Nobes is suffering from a knock.

Likely team: Areola; Johnson, Diop, Dawson, Cresswell; Lanzini, Rice, Benrahma, Fornals, Yarmolenko, Bowen.
