Gold answers empty seats question

David Gold has given the most ironic of reponses to a Twitter follower who couldn’t understand why there were so many empty seats at the London Stadium on Saturday.

As the club continues to fnd it way through the various problems surrounding the new stadium a Gol follower asked: “Why so many empty seats and I don’t mean b4 half time or near the end thought the games are sold out?”

With the club pleading for fans to sit dwn in order to se the capacity increased the co chairman immediately responded: “Yesterday’s game totally sold out 57k tickets. We are yet to be granted a licence for the 9000 empty seats. dg”

Gold added that he is still “hurting ” from the Watford defeat saying: “Disappointing result today against Watford considering we were 2-0 up. I’m still hurting but we must bounce back against WBA next week. dg

“It’s a new chapter in our history, we must all stick together. Remember It’s a marathon not a sprint..
