Sam Allardyce has received full backing from David Gold as a future England boss.

The former Hammers boss is a big favourite to succeed Roy Hodgson who resigned after England’s shock Euro 2016 exit to Iceland.

It’s believed the FA have been strongly influenced by Sir Alex Ferguson who has been reported as supporting the 61 year old Sunderland manager.
And Gold told BBC Radio 5 Live “I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

“He is determined, he is ambitious. He’s been in the business a long time. I think the most important thing from my point of view is that he’s English.”
