Here’s what safe seating looks like in Europe

David Gold heads for Thursday’s Premier League chairmens’ meeting ready to push hard on the proposal for safe standing to be introduced across the Premier League.

The co-chairman has been an advocate of the scenario for a long time and is determined to ensure the subject gets a big hearing as the climate towards an experiment starts to swing in favour.

Arsenal, Spurs, West Brom and Swansea are among the clubs who appear to favour an experiment once the PL and Government pave the way to make it happen.

Gold has made it clear on several occasions he will be speaking in favour of the proposal adding: “I have been in conversations with manufacturers of the seating. We need to have an experiment to see how this works.

“We need to do all we can to move this on and I obviously hope we can make some progress on the issue.”
