Gold issues worrying Carroll news

David Gold has revealed there is no certainty that  Andy Carroll will return to full fitness in time to face Spurs on Friday night.

Carroll remained  sidelined for the game at Stoke with a groin injury which has seen him out of action since the game at Sunderland .

And it remains to be seen whether Diafra Sakho will become available after he goes for a scan on his back tomorrow (Mon).

Gold responding on his personal Twitter account said “wish he could state with certainty” if  Carroll could return to face Spurs.

However he remains as upbeat as possible in the circumstances telling ClaretandHugh:”We did really well at Stoke – the system worked and the London Stadium will be rocking under the lights. All things are possible

“It’s Spurs and that makes it special. We can all see the cutting edge is coming because but for an outstanding display by Jack Butland in the City goal we would have come away with three points on Saturday.”
