David Gold has declared that Manuel Pellegrini takes all the credit for turning around Robert Snodgrass’ career and waiting patiently for £35 million man Felipe Anderson to find his real form.

After three wins on the bounce by with three goals scored in each, he is thrilled the lads are now starting to play in the image regularly preached by the boss – as a “big team.”

Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he said: “We are five points off Manchester United in sixth place and looking like that big team the manager has talked about.

“He has also been responsible for ensuring the Anderson has become a real force and, if you like, at the other end of the scale that Robert Snodgrass has been such an important player.

“One cost a huge amount of money while the other was thought to be on his way out of the club by many – that is excellent man management.

“It’s still early days of course and our feet must remain on the ground but everybody from the board to the fans are happy. We are feeling vindicated that in making the right decisions in the summer we are in this place.

“The fans deserve what’s happening more than any of us. They have been so patient. We as a board had a plan some time back and to see it working as it is right now is great.”

He admitted the manager has also started to re-ignite Chicharito’s career declaring: “He’s getting game time at last. We all know that across the world he is recognised as a great striker.

“But if you are not getting time on the pitch it’s very hard. Now he is not only getting that but is also working for a manager who believes in him.”

He added: “We all know how football works. If things are going well it’s down to the manager. If they aren’t then he and the board are in trouble and are held responsible.

“The manager is doing a fine job at the moment after a rotten start and I am so happy for the fans that not only are we winning but wining with style.”
