Gold takes it on the chin

Disappointed David Gold was not ready to blame the Hammers for a poor display against Crystal Palace.

The co chairman will have to run the gauntlet of Palace-supporting supporters at the workplace today where there are as many Eagles fans as Hammers.

But clearly he doesn’t believe he should be in that position after the Irons emerged as 2-1 losers against the south Londoners.

It put an end not only to our unbeaten run in the Premier League but also to the record against the visitors which had stretched back over the previous eight games and four years.

However, Gold was philosophical about a defeat which relegated us to eighth in the league as he summed up his feeling on Twitter.

Rather than blame the Hammers for a defeat which to be honest was probably unexpected he chose to play it low key in his response and ake the loss on the chin.

He tweeted:  West Ham1 Palace 2 Disappointing result. Most of the time you get what you deserve sometimes you don’t. dg
