Co-chairman David Gold is off to Goodison Park ready for a result.

Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he said: “Had this match been three weeks ago we would have been sneaking into the place but the last three games have changed so much.

“Slaven has developed this three at the back system which has found space for Pedro Obiang and now young Fernandes and it is suiting the team down to the ground.

“We go up there confident and I believe we can bring something away.”

The Toffees haven’t won in their last three games and were beaten by Burnley at Turf Moor last weekend and although they sit in sixth place they are only five points ahead of the Irons in 15th. It’s that tight.

Gold said: “We are looking great again and were quite magnificent on Wednesday evening and to use an old expression: We have our mojo back.”

He added: “It’s all to do with having big players on the way back – Cresswell, Ayew and the confidence rising in the squad and among the fans.

We travel with confidence again and I’m really looking forward to it.”
