Good news Saturday for the Hammers

Results couldn’t have worked out better for the Irons today as they continue their build-up to the Boxing Day match against Palace on Boxing Day.

Everton were of particular interest as they sat just one place below us before their game against Arsenal which they drew 0-0 and their goal difference now matches hours on -9 whilst they sit on the same number of points – 19.

Bournemouth – in 14th place – fell to a late goal at home to Burnley and are just one point in front of us  but three goals better off.

And below us Aston Villa slipped into the relegation zone when well beaten by Southampton 1-3 at Villa Park.

The events of today leave us with a game in hand on those around us and a chance – with a win at Selhurst Park – of climbing the table again.

Among those we can leapfrog are Brighton who travel to Spurs, the Cherries who entertain Arsenal and Everton who host Burnley.

Just the small matter of beating Palace left for us!
