Hammer helps Bees promotion to Premier League

Hammer Winston Reid picked up a Championship Play-Off final winners medal as he came on as a late substitute for Brentford this afternoon.

The West Ham loanee came on in the 79th minute at Wembley to replace Jansson and made an important header to keep the scoreline at 2-0 in the final minutes.

The Bees have been promoted to the Premier League after nine attempts of promotion through the playoffs.

The 32-year-old Kiwi still has two years left on his Hammers deal with his wages believed to be in the order of £70,000 a week.

Reid received glowing reports from the Bees fans after many of his Championship appearances and his stock may have gone up a few points as he saw out the remainder of the important final.

His inclusion in the biggest game in world football said to be worth £178m has certainly put him in the shop window again and West Ham will be hoping Brentford or another club will make them an offer over the summer.
