Hammer in the bloody wars again

Tomas Soucek was in the blood wars again after being kicked in the face at Goodison Park by Everton striker Salomon Rondon.

His injury echos a similar fate earlier this year when he got in the way of Sanchez to prevent a Spurs equaliser but got his head split open for his troubles.

On that occasion, Soucek was forced off the field to have stitches after the incident in the 16th minute, before returning to the field seven minutes later.

With referee Craig Pawson waving play on despite Soucek’s plight, the Czech hardman carried on defending with blood streaming down his face.

This afternoon he was also forced to leave the field of play being replaced by Craig Dawson in the 79th minute.
While the kick by Rondon appeared to be an accidental take at faith the Everton player fouled the Czech republic player in the build-up to the incident.
Referee Stuart Attwell should have declared stopped the game for a head injury.
