Anxious delay for Darren Randolph

Darren Randolph faces another medical tomorrow before he can be declared fit for a transfer back to West Ham.

Claret and Hugh have learnt that Randolph is currently injured with exact same problem that affected Fabaisnki and David Martin.

An insider has said the problem is not as bad as the injury which affected Fabianksi and the 32-year-old will have another scan tomorrow.

The Hammers still hope to announce the re-capture of the 32-year-old goalkeeper from Middlesbrough for a transfer fee believed to be £4m. New Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring in a goalkeeper reinforcement after a torrid spell by Roberto during Lucasz Fabianski’s three-month absence with a thigh injury.

David Martin replaced Roberto only to suffer from a similar thigh injury which has kept him out of action.

West Ham remains in  16th position in the Premier League two points above Bournemouth in 18th.

The Republic of Ireland international spent two seasons with the Hammers between 2015 and 2017 making 28 appearances before joining Boro in a £5m move in July 2017. The 32-year-old made 48 appearances for Middlesbrough in all competitions, proving himself as a reliable member of Tony Pulis’s squad.

He was also a key part of the Teessiders establishing themselves as one of the most robust defences in the Football League.

Over the course of the season, Randolph kept 19 clean sheets and conceded an average of just 0.8 goals per game
