Ryan Fredericks has played down the injury he suffered at Old Trafford last night saying it was small problem and he would be back soon.

The Hammer was in terrific form against Manchester United setting up Manuel Lanzini’s winning goal in Carabao Cup.

Fredericks overran into the slippery Astro turf run off area and into the pitch hoarding and was substituted on 15 minutes to be replaced by Vladimir Coufal.

Speaking on his personal Twitter account after the victory Fredericks said “Gutted to pick up the small injury but will be back in no time! #COYI.”

Fredericks’ free transfer to West Ham was announced on 5 June 2018, joining on a four-year contract from Fulham.

He made his debut on 12 August in a 4–0 defeat by Liverpool. He scored his first goal for West Ham in their 8–0 defeat of Macclesfield Town in the EFL Cup on 26 September 2018. In 2021, in an FA Cup game against Manchester United, Fredericks became the first concussion substitute in English football when he replaced Issa Diop following a head injury.

Fredericks now has just one year remaining on his current deal with West Ham United
