Hammers goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski insists that Jarrod Bowen needs to be called up to the England squad!

The Irons star has been in fine form throughout this season and was again at the centre of a victory in midweek, scoring both goals in the 2-0 win over Norwich.

It takes his tally for the season to eight goals and 10 assists and he has been central to the Irons’ push for Champions League qualification and also their attempt to reach the latter stages of the Europa League.

Bowen has been widely tipped as a potential contender to be called into Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad but he has yet to win a cap for his country.

Indeed, he has never won a cap at any level for England, but Fabianski believes that he deserves to be in the setup amid some exceptional displays.

Speaking to Football.London, the retired Poland international waxed lyrical about the ex-Hull man, saying: “I think he has been amazing since he signed for the club. From the very first moment.

“He is so direct but I think what he has improved is his finishing, the quality of his runs and the timing of his runs. The final bits as well are there.

“He is strong and powerful, we are happy to have him. Any defenders that plays against him struggles a bit so he has become a big threat and in my opinion he really deserves a chance with the national team as well.

“He is very quiet and his focus is mainly on football, which is right. He is doing his job in a very quiet way. He is not someone that even though he has been performing really consistently at the Premier League level for some time, he is very grounded and really focused on the work. Hopefully he will continue to improve.”
