Tomas Soucek should join West Ham from Slavia Prague in the coming days which means that Carlos Sanchez will be surplus to requirements in David Moyes squad.

Agents have been told to urgently find a new club for the 33-year-old before Friday’s transfer deadline day in an attempt to get his huge wages off the club’s annual salary bill.

Sanchez was signed by Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos in August 2018 on a two-year contract on wages reported to top £70,000 per week. West Ham are thought to have paid a small transfer fee of £2-£3 million. however, after agent’s fee and wages it adds up to around £9 million over the two year contract.

The 33-year-old Colombian – known as ‘The Rock’ – had appeared 88 times for his country having arrived from Fiorentina but has failed to make an impact at West Ham.

Sanchez has started just 13 times since joining making another 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League.
