Hammers admit they are looking at manager options

West Ham have admitted to Claret and Hugh they are looking at the various managerial options which may be available to the club following the latest disaster against Newcastle United.

David Moyes will be in charge for the game against Fulham on Saturday but defeat would make his position next door to – if not completely – untenable.

Brendan Rodgers may well be the favourite with a key Hammers source believing he may have been unlucky to get sacked from Leicester City after his best players were sold from under him and being given little money for replacements.

Rodgers – unlike Graham Potter – has not ruled out an immediate return to management claiming he is now ready for the next challenge

Our source told us exclusively: “He appears to have been unlucky to be sacked and his record by and large shows him to be a good manager – it would be fair to say we have been exploring options but what we really want is a win at Fulham.”

Others who have been considered as possible caretakers until the end of the season are Slaven Bilic and Alan Curbishley but Harry Redknapp’s disastrous run of results at Birmingham City in 2017 have ruled him out.

Kevin Nolan’s disastrous spells at Notts County and Orient have ruled him out along with Paul Nevin who is not seen as having enough experience,
