Hammers are left hoping!

West Ham slipped out of the top four last night as Manchester United beat ten man Brighton 2-0 to go two points clear of the Irons – who now sit in fifth place.

Cristiano Ronaldo ended his six-game goal drought as the Old Trafford club beat 10-man Brighton at home .

Bruno Fernandes added a second as United broke from deep inside their own half in the final minute of injury-time after Ronaldo scored their first.

Earlier in the 54th minute Lewis Dunk had been sent off after var picked up a foul on Anthony Elanga.

The Hammers, with 41 points from 25 games, now have to hope that the three teams beneath them – Arsenal (played 22 with 38 points), Wolves ( 37 from 23) and Spurs 36 from 22) drop points from their games in hand.

We face Newcastle of course on Saturday whilst Arsenal meet Brentford at home, Spurs are involved in their toughest fixture of the season at Manchester City and Wolves entertain Leicester City.
