Hammers can pile agony on out of form Saints

If stats show anything at all they are that the Hammers have an outstanding opportunity of bouncing back into the win business at the London Stadium tomorrow.

Our first Boxing Day fixture at home in front of a big attendance is a top incentive to turn on the style against a team struggling big time for a win at the moment.

Southampton’s recent record  -going back to November 20 – shows that they  have collected three points from a possible 18 and their record against us over recent season is winless and pretty dire.

Since being beaten away by Norwich the Saints have lost to Arsenal and Liverpool whilst taking a point each from Leicester, Brighton and Palace.

There is of course every chance they will come to park the bus and if so let’s just hope we find a way of breaking them down and that it doesn’t become a similar affair to that at Burnley.

Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl declared: “We are motivated, we are looking forward to having an immediate impact on Boxing Day and a good restart after a short break.

‘It’s important that we find the rhythm very quickly because a lot of important fixtures are coming up now and every point is important for us to stay in the league.’
