West Ham’s first-team coach Paul Nevin has re-joined the England senior men’s coaching staff on a part-time basis.

Nevin started working with the Three Lions in October 2018 and remained with the squad until the end of the 2019 UEFA Nations League campaign, helping England secure a third-place finish.

The 52-year-old joined David Moyes’ staff in February 2020 but with Moyes’ blessing, Nevin will now join Southgate’s backroom team during each international break, adding his vast experience and extensive knowledge of the game to the England setup.

Moyes told WHUFC.com said: “I’m really pleased for Paul and this opportunity will see him continue his development as a coach.”

The England manager said: “Paul is a hugely respected coach and somebody we know well so we’re thankful to David Moyes and West Ham for allowing him to support us on the road to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.”

Nevin has joined Southgate, his staff and the England squad, which of course includes West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, at St George’s Park ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers away to Hungary, home to Andorra and away to Poland over the international break.
