According to a report from the Sheffield Star  manager Chris Wilder will allow John Lundstram to leave Bramall Lane during the January transfer window after failing to secure a breakthrough in their contract talks with the midfielder.

And that will lead to new speculation  the player could be West Ham bound in the new year at a bargain transfer fee.

Although the revised offer made to Lundstram earlier this year is set to remain on the table, senior figures at Bramall Lane have now reluctantly decided to consider any bids they receive for the former England under-20 international when the market reopens in nine weeks time.

Manager Chris Wilder admitted during the close season that he would “love” the player to accept the proposal –

Earlier this summer the Sheffield Star claimed that Lundstram was attracting interest from Rangers, Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham.

Burnley and Crystal Palace have also been linked with the 26-year old, who has scored five goals since Sheffield United’s return to the Premier League last season.
