German coach Thomas Tuchel is today being reported as having rejected advances from West Ham to become a potential runner in a race to replace Slaven Bilic.

The Hammers, however,  immediately rubbished the idea when ClaretandHugh approached its top source this afternoon (Tues).

Mirror Sport revealed last month that the Hammers were already considering alternatives to boss Bilic following defeats in their opening two games and today ran a story claiming the club had been turned down the former  Borussia Dortmund boss.

But we were told categorically that is simply not the case and that Bilic is under no immediate threat – a story we had “confirmed” last night (Mon) when explaining there was no appetite to look elsewhere.

Bilic has a seemingly comfortable set of fixtures in front of him and is certainly safe into the foreseeable future unless serious calamities were to engulf the team.

And with Manu Lanzini on his way back the team could start to fire in a big way lifting the pressure for some time to come.

Our source said: “There is absolutely no truth whatsoever in the Tuchel story – there’s no panic inside the club at all.”
