Arthur Masuaku and Andriy Yarmolenko both played 75 minutes and came off unscathed in West Ham’s Under 23 game at Rush Green against Leicester City tonight (Fri).

It was Yarmolenko’s first game for 38 days since he suffered knee ligament damage in the FA Cup fifth round draw against Manchester United in February and was thought to be out for the remainder of the season.

Arthur Masuaku had not played 104 days since his knee surgery last December but also came through the Academy game without problems.

We won the game 3-1 – our first three points in six league games for the young Hammers, who deserved the plaudits for the way they rallied in the second half after conceding soon after taking the lead in the first.

West Ham’s goals from Freddie Potts, Keenan Forson and Conor Coventry

The result closes the gap on Leicester, who sit just above the relegation zone, to four points – and West Ham have a game in hand among their six remaining games.
