West Ham has continued their interest in Portugal by extending their scouting mission in the last two weeks Portuguese media claim.

The Hammers were linked in the summer with Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira after they failed to land William Carvalho and reports suggest the Irons have continued to monitor the midfielder as a possible transfer target. Earlier this year the Portuguese side bumped up the 25-year-old’s release clause to £51m amid interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Another target for the scouts is said to be Yacine Brahimi also from Porto. The Algeria international has a £52.5million release clause at the club, but it has been suggested that they would be ready to do business for far less than that.

The scouts are said to have watched Porto’s Cup tie against Vitória Guimarães to watch both players.

Finally, Benfica’s Raul Jimenez is also said to remain a possible target for Tony Henry’s scouting team.   West Ham scouts watched the Mexico international striker during last midweek’s Cup game between Rio Ave and Benfica. Everton reportedly made a £27.5million bid for the Benfica striker in the Summer but the Portuguese giants are apparently holding out for a whopping £46m which never came. This season he has made just 4 appearances out of 21 possible games scoring one goal.
