One Hammers fan called Keith Escott was blown away by the rebuilt Olympic Stadium on Sunday when he was a spectator at the Morrisons Great Newham run.

Keith explained on Sunday “I have always been a big supporter of the move to the OS despite almost six decades of great memories at The Boleyn, but today back in the OS for the first time since 2013. I was blown away.”

“The outside of the stadium there are wide concourses just like Wembley. The club shop/ticket office is now fully enclosed.  The roof is outstanding, the claret and blue is on the turnstiles as promised and we will enter as we do now by putting our card/ticket in the barcode reader. The turnstiles go from A-J and from what I could see is that each block has ten turnstiles.”

“The toilets are a lot bigger areas compared to now. The Gents have claret interior walls and the Ladies are pink (so I’m told!). Today we were almost sitting directly under the right hand screen looking towards the West (hospitality) stand. Please trust me when I say that you are a lot nearer the pitch, even without seat being pushed forward that we thought.”

“As for the roof and floodlights, they were even more impressive than we thought. They will become truly iconic. The big screens are the final version and are curved as promised. Quality is great. I had a walk around the interior to get some drinks. There were few of the kiosks open and a few mobile carts. I lined up at a kiosk, a long line moved at a fair rate but noticeably every till was manned, unlike the 2 or 3 people serving now.”
