Hammers favourites for striker

West Ham are the bookies favourites to sign Southampton ace Danny Ings

Saints fear they could lose their striker who is yet to sign a new contract at St Mary’s.

The 28-year-old south coast striker scored 22 goals last season and has eight in 18 appearances so far this term.

Leicester are second favourites with Everton, Spurs, Arsenal, Man City and even Liverpool also in the mix.

The Hampshire born player signed for Southampton from Netley Central Sports, before being released as a school boy.

After his release, Ings signed a two-year apprentice contract with AFC Bournemouth in May 2008. From Bournemouth he moved to Burnley, then to Liverpool before he returned to Southampton in 2019 where it all began for for a reported transfer fee of £18 million plus a possible further £2 million based on appearances.
