Hammers get a Watford reference

Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri has warned his team that they are facing a different West Ham to the one they beat 4-2 at the London Stadium last year.

Walter Mazzarri doesn’t believe the result or display was a one off the two teams will have any bearing whatsoever on tomorrow’s game at Vicarage Road.

Mazzarri scored his first victory as the Hornets boss on that day but believes the Hammers have made significant improvement since then and said: “We cannot really compare today with that game.

“It seems a long time ago now but West Ham had some problems in that period and we did a very good game after losing at the beginning.

“In my opinion now they are doing very well and this is a completely different time so we cannot really compare.”

Watford have winger Nordin Amrabat, goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon (both ankle) and defender Christian Kabasele (quad and knee) doubtful, but wing-back Juan Zuniga, who missed the defeat by Manchester United with a fever, should be a fit.
