Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko could have a chance of making the squad for next week’s rearranged fixture at Manchester City.

And should they do so it’s possible that the Brazilian could get minutes against City and Liverpool – perhaps regardless of scorelines – as the manager targets a start for him against Southampton – now a nailed-on must win game.

To score our first double of the season over Saints would be a fine performance and with two new players in the team with points to prove it’s a game very much on the manager’s mind.

The remote chance of picking up a point or three at Man City and Anfield can never be excluded from our thinking – however unlikely as it may appear -but Saints is the clash we are targeting in a big way.

Anderson is now fully recovered from his back injury and could be a key figure over the rest of the season so presumably the boss will want to get minutes into him.

A source confirmed to CandH on the ‘phone: “There’s a real chance of Felipe being in the squad and getting minutes at City and Liverpool. Yarmolenko too could be included.”

At this stage, however, the Ukranian  will probably only feature as a squad player rather than a potential sub with Antonio in sparkling form and new signing Jarrod Bowen playing in his right sided role.
