The Irons have told Robin van Persie he’s not wanted the the Olmpic Stadium despite the former Arsenal and Manchester United striker’s readiness to accept a huge pay cut.

ClaretandHugh revealed a week ago that despite 16 goals in the Turkish League, the Irons were not interested in the 32 year old.

The Hammers believe the League is not the best in terms of pace and competition given that Samuel Eto ‘o and other 30 year old plus strikers hold top position in the League’s scoring stakes.

van Persie is apparently ready to join the Irons on the sort of money offered to Carlos Tevez – around £150k a week – despite him currently being on a reported £240k.

But the Hammers have made their position quite clear and have no intention of goin in that direction despite the player’s enthusiasm to return to London.

Our best source said: “We are not going there. We are in negotiations on other fronts. Robin van Persie has never been in our plans.”
