West Ham has moved ahead again in the race to sign striker Henry Onyekuru from Belgian club KAS Eupen, say Sky Sports in a new report.

They claim the 20-year-old Nigerian is due to fly to England with his agent on Monday June 12th for talks with a number of interested Pclubs.

Seven Premier League sides – including West Ham, Arsenal, West Brom, Everton, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Swansea City – are said to be in discussions to acquire the teenager according to his agent.

Last Month Sky reported that Arsenal were favourites to sign Onyekuru with the player’s representatives. The player has previously claimed he was a boyhood Arsenal fan.

English clubs can trigger the release clause in Onyekuru’s contract by paying £7.85m and wages of £35,000 a week, while clubs abroad can sign him for £6.85m.

Owngoalnigeria.com previously claimed in May that West Ham had agreed a fee for the scorer of 23 goals last season. At the time that report our senior source at the club said: “The report is not true. We are not sure the player can make the jump to the Premier League.”
