Hammers hero tells how to get the best from Chicarito
The Mexican striker has scored four goals in 10 top flight appearances since his summer move from Bayer Leverkusen but there have been reports – denied by the player – that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker is unsettled at the club because of seeming uncertainty over where he best fits in.
In an exclusive interview, Cottee told Blowing Bubbles Monthly: “With respect to him, Chicharito isn’t going to get the ball on the halfway line, beat five players and smash it in the top corner – he isn’t that type of player.
“He’s got goals so far this season but he hasn’t really had that many chances, and if we don’t give him more opportunities the sad truth is he isn’t going to score that many goals.”
