A mixed bag of results from the teams locked into a relegation battle left the Hammers in the bottom three this afternoon and looking for at least a point to escape on goal difference tomorrow .

Everton boss Dyche grabs his second win

The shock result was Southampton’s 1-0 win at Chelsea – a team we had believed we had done well to take a point from at the London Stadium last week.

But it was victories for Bournemouth at Wolves and Everton against Leeds – their second from three since Sean Dyche took over – that left the Hammers looking for a win at Spurs.

Were they to do so it would take them into 1nto the 15th spot currently occupied by the Molineux outfit.

Nottingham Forest – under their excellent manager Steve Cooper – saw his team take another forward step after their early struggles by clinching a splendid 1-1 draw when coming from behind against Manchester City.

Declan Rice commented recently how hard it is to keep looking at other results and seeing ourselves in this position – but this should make him and the lads even more determined as they go into what has become a truly critical game tomorrow.
