Sky Sports have reported that West Ham hasn’t completely given up on signing Jesse Lingard this summer and still believe they have a 10% chance of signing the Manchester United attacking midfielder who spent six months on loan at West Ham.

The broadcaster doesn’t explain how they came to that conclusion or that particular one in ten figure so it’s hard to tell if the piece is speculative, an opinion or has been briefed by a club source.

The report adds that the Red Devils have slapped a £30m price tag on the head of the attacker, in spite of the fact that his deal is due to run out in the summer of 2022.

A lot may depend on the sale of Paul Pogba, Manchester United are also said to be prepared to cash in on the World Cup winner who has just a year left to run on his contract at Old Trafford. Paris Saint-Germain have been heavily linked with a £50m move for the ex-Juventus ace should he decide against extending his stay in England.

If Pogba leaves Lingard’s chance of game time massively increases and he is unlikely to be sold this summer.
