Hammers in a big work permit hurry

West Ham tied up Felipe Anderson’s work permit in double quick time yesterday wanting absolutely no delays once – as expected – the deal to bring him in from Lazio is finalised over the weekend.

The club is now confident is will complete what us set to be the record signing by a distance and they want the player on the training field as soon as possible.

Lazio are still haggling over a €6 million games clause preferring to have the money guaranteed rather than the 25 year old having to making a stipulated number of appearances.

But that wasn’t of sufficient concern to  stop the Hammers going ahead with the work permit application which was received with no problem.

One insider told us this afternoon that the player and his agent are kicking the door down to get into West Ham whilst Lazio continue to make the negotiations as “long winded and difficult” as it gets.

However, with the player’s wages agreed and the agent payment sorted out it seems unlike the deal can fail now. Only a major Lazio U-turn seems likely to see that happen.
