Hammers know what they must do

West Ham have slipped from ninth in the Premier League to tenth following the Saturday afternoon results.

However, a win against Everton at Goodison Park tomorrow afternoon could see them move into fifth place should Newcastle beat Spurs.

Such a sequence of results would see us move above the North London team, Everton themselves and Manchester United assuming we can improve our goal  goal difference sufficiently at the same time.

The Old Trafford team – having taken the lead at Leicester – were ultimately beaten 4-2 by the Foxes who joined the Hammers on 11 points but with an inferior goal difference.

The Hammers will be looking for their second win in the League since August and theIr second successive victory at Everton in 91 years.

Elsewhere, the newly taken-over Saudi outfit Newcastle remain third off bottom, Burnley second off bottom and newly promoted Norwich bang bottom on two points.

It’s a game we certainly can’t afford to lose if we really see ourselves as a regular top four or six club.
