Hammers linked to Real Madrid player

The Irons are being reported as being ready  to open talks with Real Madrid  over a loan move for  goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, with the Sunday Mirror (29/5; page 77) reporting it could carry the possibility of attaching an option to buy.

The Hammers will need to sign a second goalkeeper within the next 12 months with Lukasz Fabianski likely to move on or be succeeded anyway by Alphonse Areola should David Moyes make that deal permanent this summer.

The Ukraine has been allowed out on loan on several occasion and is apparently keen to do so again but understandably – as has been the case with us when sending players out of loan – Los Blancos want assurances over his game-time before letting him go.

With two goalkeepers available to them this season this will create a problem for the Hammers who may decide as a result that a hefty loan fee is not in their best interests with players needed in various other positions.
