Hammers make first bid for major target

The Hammers have reportedly made their first offer for Manchester City striker  Kelechi Iheanacho.

The bid in order to get things started after Manchester City had failed to name a price for the player following early inquiries.

However this morning the club were quick to point out that nobody should be getting over excited at this stage.

A source told us: “Yes, we have made a bid as we have for several other players but there is little progress and clubs are not replying at this early stage.

“We are working hard to make things happen but we are in the hands of the “selling” club and there’s no more we can do than register our interest with a bid – now it’s about waiting and seeing.

ClaretandHugh reported last week that the Irons were trying to get a price for the front man and it makes sense therefore that we should put a toe in the water by opening the bidding.

And should City boss Pep Guardiola be ready to let him leave the Hammers keen early interest will show the player our enthusiasm to give him a major role at the London Stadium.

The Irons hope their trump card is in Pablo Zabaleta who was almost a mentor to the young Nigerian whilst with City.
