West Ham have suffered from a potential data breach, according to some supporters who wrongly received emails from the club per NowNews West Ham – Six Foot Two (6foot2.co.uk)

The fans allege that the emails with digital tickets for the Europa Conference league game on Thursday in Cyprus contained other supporters’ names and their passport numbers.

That would represent a data breach, and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) could well investigate but whilst admitting some emails have been sent in error a club source said the ICO will not investigate the club.

An Email sent to ticket holders read. “The club recognises that a small number of tickets for our away game against AEK Larnaca in the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday have been wrongly distributed, We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding.  Please be assured tickets will be reissued tomorrow, Any tickets currently in your possession will be cancelled and will not be valid for entry. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in Larnaca”

The Hammers were in trouble  in 2018 when a ticket office employee revealed the email addresses of all away season holders for a game against AFC Wimbledon.
