West Ham's window dilemma

Lanzini – often makes the Irons tick

The latest West Ham news concerning a man many of us believe should be playing in the first team on a regular basis is that he will be offered a new deal so long as we remain in the Premier League.

Manu Lanzini was man of the match for most in the last game against Larnaca, showing the sort of form that had even Liverpool interested a couple of years back.

With Moyes deciding against using him for much of this season – he has made only five Premier League appearances – there have been doubts over his future.

With his current contract up for renewal in the form of a two year option the club will make a decision based – as mentioned on the league we are in.

The majority of the players have clauses within their contracts which would see them take a pay cut – 50 per cent in some cases.

So it remains to be seen whether Manu – and indeed one of two others – would be ready to commit their futures to the club in those circumstances were we to drop.

A London Stadium source said: “Manu – like various others – is coming out of contract and whether he gets a new deal will depend on the league we are playing in.”
