Hammers minds up as Porto say ‘no deal’

Porto have no intention of negotiating a deal with West Ham for right-back Wilson Manafá after reports of their interest.

That’s according to O Jogo, who cover Porto’s stance on the matter and say the Portuguese side are not interested in a deal.

It took little working out anyway given the Irons are understood to be closing in on Tomas Soucek’s former Slavia Prague team-mate  Lukas Masopust.

It’s claimed he will cost in the region of £4m-£5m whilst Manafa was understood to be estimated at more than that with the Portuguese media now reporting that Porto would have always been unwilling to let him leave.

Moyes is understood to be ready to let Ryan Fredericks leave if he can find the replacement he requires and looks set to take the recommendation of Soucek that Masopust is the one to go for.

And should they clinch a deal Ben Johnson would become the natural number two in the position.
