Hammers monitoring Chelsea striker

West Ham were tonight refusing to rule out a January loan move for summer target Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian international was a Hammers target or a long time but after reportedly lodging a £38 million bid were hijacked by Chelsea nearing deadline day.

Now speculation has arisen that the Irons could go in for the young striker on loan given his limied appearances at Stamford Bridge.

He has made four Premier League appearances for one goal and although there has been no contact between the two clubs a top Hammers insider refused to rule it out.

He told us:: “It’s one that we continue to monitor but I’m not sure it’s one that Chelsea would entertain. We haven’t had any contact at ths stage but you never say never. ”
